THERE SEA SNAIL VENOM WING BUTTERFLIES
Brief red -winged butterfly white looks beautiful . However , behind the beauty of the retained risk. The latest research shows butterfly wings contain toxic Asia .
" Butterflies are using poison as self-defense rather than a weapon, " said the Austrian research team examined the butterfly . The findings are published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences on Monday , October 15, 2012 .
Unique from these findings is red white butterfly ( Hebomoia glaucippe ) have the same poison predatory sea snail . It is unknown when the research team analyzed the protein from the body and wings of butterflies collected from several locations in Southeast Asia, namely Indonesia , Malaysia and the Philippines.
They found poison called glacontryphan -M in high enough amounts . Glacontryphan -M previously only found in marine snails ( Conus marmoreus ) or better known as the marbled cone snail . Mollusc predators use poison as a weapon to immobilize prey.
The research team also recorded many predators butterfly H. glaucippe , like birds , ants, and grasshoppers orchid choose to avoid eating the wings of a butterfly . " While the hunger gecko will eat the body and wings of a butterfly , no matter the poison in it , " they said .
Research is now being expanded into a butterfly in other areas outside of Southeast Asia to discover the existence of the same poison . The research team is also examining a number of other poisonous animals to find clues about the evolution of butterfly equality and the sharing of sea snail venom identical
